Every Southeastern Conference swim team will be in action this weekend. There are quite a few exciting matchups, including a number between ranked teams.

Top Five Storylines

  1. How will the Georgia women react to being number one? The Bulldogs passed Virginia to take the top spot nationally. Georgia will face off with No. 12 Tennessee this weekend. They could continue to turn heads with a strong showing against the Volunteers.
  2. Who will win the Florida-Auburn matchup? The Tigers (No. 8 men, No. 9 women) will travel to Florida to take on sophomore Caeleb Dressel and the Gators (No. 4 men, No. 15 women) on Saturday. Both are interesting matchups. Could either the Auburn men or Florida women pull off an upset?
  3. Can Kara Kopcso and the LSU women continue to roll against the Texas A&M women? The No. 23 Tigers knocked off No. 19 Missouri last weekend, improving their record to 9-0. They will have a tough time against No. 6 Texas A&M, but the Tigers would make a huge statement if they could keep the meet close. If the Aggies underestimate LSU, an upset isn’t out of the question.
  4. How will the Missouri Tigers (No. 10 men, No. 19 women) approach their two meets this weekend? Missouri faces Drury on Friday and Missouri State on Saturday. Drury is a strong Division II program and Missouri State is an unranked Division I team. The Tigers should easily win both meets, but it will be interesting to see what events swimmers compete in.
  5. Can the Kentucky Wildcats hold their own against Kelsi Worrell and the Louisville Cardinals (No. 7 men, No. 10 women)? The Wildcats have a decent women’s team and received votes in the most recent CSCAA poll. Though Kentucky will have a hard time knocking off the Cardinals, the Wildcats could make a statement by winning a few individual events.
