The Morning Swim Show, August 6, 2012: Tom Speedling Discusses Developing Rebecca Soni Into Olympic Champion at Scarlet Aquatics
PHOENIX, Arizona, August 6. THE Morning Swim Show is back to its regular schedule after eight exciting days at the Olympics, and today's show features Tom Speedling, who discusses the road Rebecca Soni took from one of his top age group swimmers to Olympic champion.
Speedling, the head coach at Scarlet Aquatics in New Jersey, discusses his prediction that Soni would break 2:20 in the 200-meter breaststroke and what he saw in her as a teenager to warrant such a premonition. Soni is not the only swimmer of note to come from Scarlet Aquatics, and he talks about the other swimmers he has developed into national champion and international medalists.
