Swimming World Presents “Coming to America,” Personality Feature on Cal’s Dora Antal

Coming to America

Foreign nationals have been flocking to the United States for years to receive an excellent education and play women’s water polo against what many believe to be the strongest competition in the world. Heading that list this year is Cal’s—and Hungary’s—Dóra Antal, considered to be the best foreign player competing in the NCAAs.

Antal, 24, now finishing her senior year at the University of California at Berkeley. Already this season, the Hungarian native broke the program’s all-time scoring record of 216 goals (set in 2013 by Emily Csikos). And if all goes well in the coming month, she will lead the Golden Bears to their rst NCAA women’s nal since 2011…and, Cal fans hope, a first-ever national title.
