Swimming World Celebrates Site Upgrade, Implements More Speed

SW-Server-updated

Swimming World is proud to announce that we have completed the latest phase in what is a three-year master plan of upgrading our entire digital array of content, delivery vehicles, and platforms. We apologize for any inconvenience that any of our thousands of users experienced the last few days as a result of our upgrade.

“Users will now be able to navigate our site quicker, and download magazines from the Swimming World Magazine vault faster than ever. To help us celebrate, we are offering a 72-hour special Total Access Subscription for only $19.95 when you use the coupon code: Celebrate with this link.” – Brent Rutemiller, Publisher

MORE ABOUT THE UPGRADE

On April 20, we completed a server migration that drastically reduces download times across the board for both mobile and desktop devices.  Additionally, we upgraded various elements of our site to improve the overall user experience. We can now deliver content to our readers faster than any other media outlet in the sport.

The recent upgrade required moving nearly 50,000 online articles as well as nearly 50,000 images. The latest move increased our ability to handle high traffic periods including the upcoming Olympics in Rio. Under our previous setup, we recognized that we were not fully prepared for high traffic periods and that our authors, reporters, and commenters were sometimes negatively impacted.

This current upgrade is only one of a number of major improvements that the entire staff at Swimming World is working on to bring our users and subscribers the best coverage in the world of aquatics.

Be on the lookout for more exciting upgrades and updates in the coming months as we cover the sport of swimming with the history and depth that no one else can provide.

Once again, to help us celebrate, we are offering a 72-hour special Total Access Subscription for only $19.95 when you use the coupon code: Celebrate.
