Swimming Canada is proud to launch its new website today at www.swimming.ca

The new site brings an updated look and feel to the main portal for information about swimming in Canada. Designed and developed by the award-winning Locomotive web design and development agency in Montreal, it is aligned with the new Swimming Canada brand launched earlier this year.

“Analyzing, developing, designing and launching our new website has been an intensive process,” said Swimming Canada CEO Ahmed El-Awadi. “We have gathered feedback from our various audiences inside and outside the swimming community. The site will continue to be the go-to resource for information about our national teams, our programs, and services to swimming in Canada. We also hope to grow our audience by presenting information about swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle that’s accessible to all Canadians.”

Most of the major resources from the old swimming.ca have been carried over, but in many cases have been streamlined. The front page will retain and improve its “sports news” look and feel. The focus will be on a simplified user experience, showcasing swimmers and events through strong photography, writing and design elements.

“Swimmers are our greatest assets. The new website will showcase our best while continuing to serve as an information hub for all swimmers, from their first age group meet to the international podium,” said Swimming Canada Marketing Director Chris Wilson.

A robust Search tool will allow users to find information intuitively, while the new Resources section contains in-depth information pertaining to various aspects of swimming in Canada. The Event Focus area will highlight major upcoming events, such as the Pan American Games in Toronto, where Canada’s Open Water swimmers will be in action Saturday and Sunday, followed by the pool swimmers July 14-18.

The new responsive site will display cleanly across all devices, from desktop computers to mobile phones and everything in between.

“We already had great data and information on our website, but we often received feedback that things were hard to find and the look needed to improve,” said Wilson. “Now we’re merging all that data with our brand new look, reimagining and improving the user experience to match our strong new brand.”
