SwimMac Carolina Names Randy Erlenbach As Head Site Coach (South)

SwimMAC Carolina announced today that Randy Erlenbach will be joining its organization as Head Site Coach (South) effective September 7, 2021. Randy comes to SwimMAC with a long history of commitment and success in the world of swimming.

“I am over the moon excited Randy is going to be heading up the South site and Senior 1 at that location,” said SwimMAC Head Coach Chuck Batchelor. “The coaches, athletes, and families I have gotten to know at SwimMAC are absolutely amazing, and Randy is the icing on the cake. Randy has been a coach, mentor, colleague, and friend of mine for past 30 years. Randy will make all of us better by example and through leadership.”

Here are some highlights of Coach Randy’s success:

  • Former Assistant Coach for USA Swimming Junior National Team and on the USA Swimming International Coaches List for 19 years.
  • Six Olympic Trial Qualifiers (2016) and six National Jr Team swimmers.
  • Experience in both age group and college programs including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill coaching everything from sprint events to distance events.
  • While at UNC, Randy personally coached 32 NCAA All-Americans, 41 individual ACC champions, and 28 University record-holders, 12 All-Americans, 12 qualifiers for various USA Swimming teams and contributed to 15 ACC team conference titles.
  • Randy was a four-year letter winner at Duke, earning co-captain status his Senior year. He held the school record holder in the 400-yard individual medley.

As part of his role, Randy will be leading the Charlotte location Senior Swimmer Division including directly coaching Senior 1 swimmers. “I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity for myself and my family.” said Erlenbach. “SwimMAC has a storied past and I look forward to being part of writing a successful future.”
