Now in its third season, SwimJitsu presented by Nexcare will double the number of events in its 2017 tour visiting 40-plus cities nationwide, with three new course options, bringing the total to five course layouts. In SwimJitsu’s first two years, nearly 8,000 participants hit the course in 21 different cities.

“Interest in SwimJitsu has taken off, leading us to expand the program every year. Swim clubs who are past hosts signed up quickly and we have clubs call daily to get involved,” said USA Swimming Marketing Director Jim Fox. “Offering a variety of course options and price points allows hosts to match the model that works best in their community to showcase how much fun the sport of swimming is.”

SwimJitsu participants, also known as “swimjas,” push through the course to complete entertaining obstacles such as balancing across beams, swimming through trenches and cannonballing off the top of Mt. Swimja. SwimJitsu is fun for participants of all ages and skill, even those just beginning their swimming journey.
