COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With eight stops already completed this summer, SwimJitsu is adding three locations to expand the challenge of the in-water obstacle course to more kids across the nation during the end of summer and early fall months.

Over 2,600 SwimJitsu participants, also known as “swimjas,” have conquered the course since its 2016 tour launch in April. Swimjas who try the course aim to complete entertaining obstacles such as balancing across beams, swimming through trenches and cannonballing off the top of Mt. Swimja. Once participants conquer the course and the three sacred traits of speed, agility and wisdom, they can claim the title of Grand Master Swimja. SwimJitsu is fun for participants of all ages and skill, even those just beginning their swimming journey.

SwimJitsu will add these locations to its 2016 agenda:

  • Aug. 13: St. Louis, Mo.
  • Sept.10: Hightstown, N.J.
  • Sept. 17-18: Cypress, Texas

“The success of SwimJitsu so far in 2016 has exceeded our expectations and we’re looking to continue the momentum with the addition of these three locations,” said USA Swimming Marketing Director Jim Fox. “We’re looking forward to introducing more ‘swimjas’ to the fun environment of swimming in 2016 and continuing the ‘edu-tainment’ factor that SwimJitsu offers.”

Two previously scheduled events will also take place in-between the three new events:

  • Aug. 20: Cleveland, Ohio
  • Aug. 27: Holly Springs, Ga.
