Swim or Paddle Into The Top Spot Of Barbados’ Newly Redesigned Open Water Festival

The Barbados Open Water Festival is returning to the Caribbean island for its 4th annual event. The November 4-8, 2015 event hosted by Swim Barbados Vacations, a locally-owned and operated company, includes a variety of swimming, kayaking and stand up paddling races for all experience levels along the island’s sandy white beaches.

This year’s biggest festival highlights include the 1.5 km and 5 km Open Water Swim Races on the Platinum Coast’s stunning Carlisle Bay. With its clear waters, zero undertow, and pristine marine life, this world-class swimming spot guarantees perfect conditions for race day.

For the first time ever, the Barbados Open Water Festival will use electronic chip timing to provide the most accurate, quality timing for participants. Racers who grab the gold have the chance at winning a number of prizes ranging from experiences at local fine dining venues to airline tickets.

Swimmers and fans can join the sponsors pre- and post-races at the Copa Cabana Beach Bar on Bay Street in the island’s capital of Bridgetown to savor local Barbadian cuisine and handcrafted cocktails made with local rum.

Prospective participants traveling to the island of Barbados can choose from individually curated travel packages, inclusive of accommodations at one of many partnered hotels, entry fees and other activities.
