Swanson Lowers Masters World Mark in 100m Backstroke

AT the Colonies Zone Championships last December, two US Masters swimmers broke the world record in the short course 100 meter backstroke for women 40-44.

Vibeke Swanson clocked 1:07.80, touching just ahead of Beth Baker at 1:07.92. The old record was 1:08.45, set by Germany's Ute Romberg on Oct. 7, 2001.
