Stanford Swims Past Arkansas, led by Caroline Bricker, Aurora Roghair

Stanford freshman Caroline Bricker notched three personal bests on Friday afternoon to highlight a 161-133 victory over Arkansas to help push the Cardinal to 2-0 on the year.

In just her second collegiate event, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native clocked new lifetime bests in the 200 fly (1:54.60), 200 breast (2:07.15), and the 400 IM (4:05.51), pacing the Stanford group with three race wins on the day.

Not to be overshadowed, junior Aurora Roghair tallied a personal best of her own on Friday with a 9.34.36 time in the 1000 free, shaving over six seconds off her previous best from the NCAA Championships last year, where she finished with a time of 9:40.74. Roghair earned an event win in the 500 free with a 4:40.03.

Sophomore Natalie Mannion also won a pair of races for the second straight meet, clocking a 1:45.70 for the 200 free race win, then a 1:55.56 to claim the 200 back event title. Rounding out the event winners for Stanford was Janelle Rudolph in the 100 back (54.41), Lucy Thomas in the 100 breast (59.42), and Gigi Johnson in the 100 fly (52.56).

Stanford swept both relay races on the day with Rudolph, Thomas, Johnson, and Anna Shaw teaming up for the 200 medley relay win with a time of 1:39.23, while Thomas, Johnson, Shaw, and Lillie Nordmann earned a time of 3:16.97 in the 400 free relay.

Action on the diving boards was highlight by a 1-2 finish in the 3-meter dive from Lauren Burch and Emilie Moore.

For Arkansas, Bella Cothern had first place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Cothern posted NCAA B-cut times in both events with times of 22.23 and 49.03 respectively.
