Spain Selects 28-Strong Squad for European Championships in Paris

Spain has selected a 28-strong squad for the European Championships in Paris next month.

The squad – comprising 14 men and 14 women – were chosen following the Spanish Open trials in Mallorca.

Luca Hoek set two national records at trials where he became the first Spanish man to break 48secs in the 100 free in 47.72, The 18-year-old also lowered the 200 free mark to 1:46.10. Nic Cadevall also came away with two national standards, going 27.30 in the 50 breast and 1:00.30 over 100m

Also selected is Hugo Gonzalez who won a medal of each colour topped by 200IM gold at the Europeans in 2021 in Budapest.

The pool programme will run from 10-16 August at the Olympic Aquatic Centre in Saint-Denis.
