Simone Manuel Posts Fastest 50 Free in Prelims

Simone Manuel had not swum at Nationals since Wednesday when she was fifth in the 200 free, getting a spot on the 4×200 free relay team. Manuel came back on Saturday to grab the number one seed in the 50 free. Manuel swam the fastest time of the morning with a 24.63 to lead Mallory Comerford (24.88). Comerford is already on the team in the 100 free and 4×200 free relay.

Abbey Weitzeil and Lia Neal are behind the top two at 25.00. Kelsi Worrell (25.03), Madison Kennedy (25.06), Olivia Smoliga (25.14) and Grace Ariola (25.23) will also compete in the A-final. Everyone in the A-final is already on the team except for Weitzeil, Kennedy and Ariola.
