Serbia, Croatia Stay Dominant in Men’s World League European Prelims

The European teams disputed their fourth round of the FINA Men’s Water Polo World League preliminaries on Monday February 12 and Tuesday February 13.

Powerhouse Serbia dominated their game in Oradea (ROU), and beat the host country squad 14-7 (4-3, 3-4, 3-0-, 4-0).

Group B’s leader Croatia defeated Russia 17-9 in Moscow, despite a tie in the first quarter (4-4, 5-1, 4-3, 4-1).

Spain won its game against the Netherlands 12-4 (4-0, 2-1, 4-2, 2-1), and maintain its second position in Group C behind Hungary.

Provisional Ranking
GROUP A: 1. SRB 9 pts; 2. MNE 3 pts; 3. ROU 0 pt
GROUP B: 1. CRO 9 pts; 2. RUS 2 pts; 3. GER 1 pt
GROUP C: 1. HUN 6 pts; 2. ESP 6 pts, 3. NED 0 pt

The fifth round of the World League will be played on March 6 in Ruza (RUS) and March 20 in Podgorica (MNE), and Debrecen (HUN).

The women’s European tournament resumes on Tuesday February 27.
