Sarah Sjostrom smoked the field in the women’s 50-meter fly to open up the 2016 FFN Golden Tour stop in Amiens.

Sjostrom won in a swift time of 25.37 that would have ranked third in the world last year if not for her stunning top-ranked 24.69 at the Eindhoven Swim Cup. Melanie Henique took second in 26.02, while Anna Santamans pulled her way to third in 26.61.  Katinka Hosszu, swimming in her sixth event of the night, faded badly to seventh in 27.46.

Hosszu collected the women’s 800-meter free title in 8:31.43 with Martina Dememe taking second in 8:36.83.  Aimee Willmott wound up third in 8:37.15.

Hosszu then threw down a 4:32.25 to win the women’s 400-meter IM.  That would have ranked her fourth in the world last year if not for leading the globe with a 4:30.39 at Worlds. Willmott took second in 4:26.48 with Evelyn Verraszto placing third in 4:49.39.

Hosszu then took fifth in the women’s 50-meter back with a 29.42.  Anastasia Fesikova won the sprint back in 28.10, while Sarah Sjostrom (28.39) and Daryna Zevina (28.74) took second and third.

Hosszu faded to eighth in the women’s 50-meter breast with a 33.98, finishing half-a-second behind seventh-place finisher Chloe Cazier’s 33.45.  Adeline Williams won in 31.89 with Charlotte Bonnet (32.08) and Solene Gallego (32.61) taking second and third.

Hosszu closed out her night of action with a 16:58.04 to win the women’s 1500-meter free.  Gladys Larzul took second in 17:15.97 with Charline Mace placing third in 17:22.61.

Camille Lacourt won the men’s 50-meter back in a time of 24.67.  That swim would have ranked Lacourt eighth in the world last year if not for leading the rankings with a 24.23 at Worlds.  Sergei Fesikov took second in 25.69 with Ben Stasiulis earning third in 25.79.

Felipe Lima topped the men’s 50-meter breast in 27.74.  Giacomo Perez Dortona tied Ross Murdoch for second with 27.87s.

Ediz Yildirimer won the men’s 1500-meter free in 15:48.86.  Fares Zitouni picked up second in 15:53.66 with Batuhan Hakan taking third in 15:56.39.

David Verraszto captured the men’s 400-meter IM in 4:17.34.  Ioannis Drymonakos took second in 4:22.34 with Jeremy Desplanches claiming third in 4:23.33.

Fred Bousquet won the men’s 50-meter fly in 23.54.  Mehdy Metella (24.09) and Anthonny Ralefy (24.64) rounded out the podium.

Mykhailo Romanchuk picked up the men’s 800-meter free title in 7:55.57.  Damien Joly touched just behind with a 7:55.62.  Sergii Frolov took third in 7:58.24.
