Saint Bonaventure University sophomore Theresa Hutton will be transferring to Seton Hall University for this spring semester.

Hutton has left an impact on Saint Bonaventure. In her freshman year she was a member of a school record setting 400 medley relay. She also swam on the team’s Atlantic10 200 medley, 400 medley, 200 and 800 freestyle relays. At that meet Hutton also finished 13th in the 100 backstroke. In her first year she also recorded a number of personal best times, including:

  • 50 Back 26.49
  • 100 Back 56.45
  • 200 Back 2:04.70
  • 50 Free 24.89
  • 200 Free 1:54.73

Her best 100 free time is a 53.46, swum in high school.

At last year’s Big East Championships Hutton would have been a 200 backstroke A finalist. Seton Hall freshman Sara Ouellette (2:02.15) finished sixth and will be a great training partner for Hutton. She’d also land in the 100 backstroke A final, where Seton Hall had one swimmer- Aitan Robinson (56.97).

Hutton said of the move,

“I choose to transfer to Seton Hall not only for the competitive swim program but for the rigorous academics and highly accredited DPT program. I am so excited to attend my dream school from the time I was a child. GO PIRATES! #HALLin”

Hutton is originally from Stony Point, New York. She did her club swimming with Team Rockland Swimming and went to Albertus Magnus High School.
