Ryan Murphy Out-duels Jacob Pebley in 200 Back Final

The silver and bronze medalists from the 2017 World Championships went at it in the 200 back final at the TYR Pro Swim Series Austin with Ryan Murphy coming out on top of Jacob Pebley 1:56.11 to 1:56.40. The two have been on top of the country in the 200 back since the 2016 Olympic Trials. They both represent Cal but Murphy represents Natalie Coughlin‘s swim squad and Pebley represents Kaitlin Sandeno.

Carson Foster (2:00.73), Robert Hill (2:00.76), Hennessey Stuart (2:01.17), Xavier Castelli (2:01.40) and Nicholas Pyle (2:02.24) also swam in the championship final. Great Britain’s Luke Greenbank was originally third in the race but was disqualified in the final for not breaking the surface before 15 meters.
