Ryan Lochte has had a tumultuous few months to say the least.

The twelve-time Olympic medalist has dealt with protesters, a sub-par performance in Rio, and a scandal on Brazilian soil accompanying his name whenever in the news.

Despite all the negativity surrounding Lochte in the post-weeks of the Olympic Games the Olympic star has rebounded on a different platform: the dance floor.

His announcement that he would be a cast member of the 23rd season of the popular television show “Dancing With The Stars” was flanked by the continuing coverage of what many now refer to as #LochteGate. However, he did not let this get him down appearing excited about his upcoming role on the show and his new partnership with professional dancer Cheryl Burke.

Lochte and Burke, also referred to as “Team Cherloch,” got off to a rough start in the show scoring low scores in the first week of competition and battling nerves brought on by protesters rushing the stage. The two have since then rebounded earning safety after their week three performance. Dancing to the hit song “If It Ain’t Love” by Jason Derulo the duo performed a Cha Cha as they competed directly against dance couple James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess.

While only scoring 25 out of 40 points on their Cha Cha routine, Team Cherloch lives for another week as former Texas governor Rick Perry and dance partner Emma Slater were eliminated for earning the lowest scores.
