Rice vs. Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas, November 4. TCU's women's swimming and diving team knocked off visiting Rice on Friday evening, 159-126, inside the TCU University Recreation Center Natatorium.

The Horned Frogs claimed wins in the relays to start and end the meet, as well as grabbing nine individual wins on the evening. TCU (4-1) won for the first time in the last seven tries against its former Southwest Conference and WAC foe. Rice dropped to 1-2.

TCU record holders Sabine Rasch and Amanda Vincent shined once again, each claiming two wins on the night. From the air, TCU junior Katie Lybbert picked up wins on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard.

Rasch won the 50-free and the 100-free to remain undefeated on the season in the sprint events. In her TCU career, she has been defeated only once in a dual-meet sprint event. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native clocked times of 23.84 in the 50-free and 51.29 in the 100-free on Friday evening.

Vincent, the Mountain West leader in the 200-fly, won both butterfly events after clocking a 56.27 in the 100-fly and a 2:01.80 in the 200-fly. Lybbert tallied scores of 264.60 (1-meter) and 279.83 (3-meter) for her event wins. Her 3-meter score is the fifth-best in TCU history.

In the relays, TCU's Elizabeth Oster, Van-Anh Hoang, Vincent and Rasch started things on the right foot for the Frogs with their 3:54.19 to win the opening 400-medley relay. The mark is a season-best for the quartet.

Rasch, Katie Scarsella, Mackenzie Schuler and Parris Schoppa clocked a 1:35.35 in the 200-free relay to close the meet. That time is better than the previous TCU 200-free mark that leads the Mountain West.

Other individual winners for TCU were Hoang in the 100-breast (1:06.31), Oster in the 200-back (2:06.89) and Gabi Korac in the 200-breast (2:23.35).

The Frogs return to action Saturday afternoon when Wyoming visits the TCU URC for a 1 p.m., matchup. Both the men and women's teams will be in action.
