Relay Line-Ups for 400 Medley Relay Released; Team USA Does Full Swap

Line-ups for the women’s and men’s 400 medley relays have been released as the final session of the 2017 FINA World Championships looms near.

For the women, top seed Team USA will go with their “A” team, choosing Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Kelsi Worrell, and Simone Manuel. Both King and Manuel won their respective 100s this week.

They will be flanked on either side by Canada and China. Canada enters Kylie Masse, Kierra Smith, Penny Oleksiak, and Chantal van Landeghem. Both Masse and Smith swam as part of the prelims relay. China enters Fu Yuanhui, Shi Jinglin, Zhang Yufei, and Zhu Menghui.

Sweden will swap in butterfly great Sarah Sjostrom, while Australia enters an “A” team of their own in Emily Seebohm, Taylor McKeown, Emma McKeon, and Bronte Campbell.

On the men’s side, Team USA will swap in Matt Grevers, Kevin Cordes, Caeleb Dressel, and Nathan Adrian. Each member has medaled in their respective 100 this week with Dressel claiming gold and Grevers, Crodes, and Adrian adding silvers.

The USA will be flanked on either side by Russia and Japan. Russia enters Evgeny Rylov, Kirill Prigoda, Aleksandr Popkov, and Vladimir Morozov, while Japan will be represented by Ryosuke Irie, Yasuhiro Koseki, Yuki Kobori, and Shinri Shioura.

China has swapped in Xu Jiayu, 100 back gold medalist as their lead-off leg.
