CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 17. THE Iron Lady Katinka Hosszu blasted her way to an unreal time in the women’s 100-meter back at the Arena Grand Prix in Charlotte en route to her fourth title of the meet.

Hosszu, who already posted an eighth-ranked time of 59.94 this morning, threw down a backhalf 30.26 to touch in 59.64 for the win. That vaulted her to fourth in the world, behind only Emily Seebohm (58.92), Mie Nielsen (59.36) and Fu Yuanhui (59.59). She nearly challenged her Hungarian record of 59.40 in the process.

Kathleen Baker of SwimMAC finished second in 1:01.39 with Club Wolverine’s Ali Deloof placing third in 1:01.83.

Megan Romano (1:01.91), Carolina Colorado (1:02.07), Kennedy Goss (1:02.39), Ellen Williamson (1:02.52) and Marie-Pier Couillard (1:02.99) wrapped up the championship finale in fourth through eighth.

Fernanda Gonzalez Ramirez picked up the win in the B final with a 1:02.49, while Isabella Arcila took second in 1:03.19. Kaitlyn Jones placed third in 1:03.57.

Hellen Moffitt (1:03.69), Yin Yan Lau (1:03.72), Zoe Mattingly (1:04.08), Brooke Zeiger (1:04.40) and Emily Meilus (1:04.65) also battled in the consolation heat.
