Psych Sheet Now Available for 2018 Speedo Junior National Championships

The city of Irvine, California has been abuzz with excitement this past week as the national championships have splashed into action. Next week, the action will continue as the 2018 Speedo Junior National Championships get underway.

The psych sheet was recently released and features many rising stars, who will be competing during the five day meet.

16-year-old Carson Foster of the Mason Manta Rays is among one of the top swimmers to keep an eye on at the junior national championships as he has entered into a whopping ten events. The younger Foster brother has elected to swim the 50, 100, 200 and 400 free, 100 and 200 back, 100 and 200 fly, and the 200 and 400 IM. He sits as the top seed in the 100 and 200 back, 200 fly, and 200 IM.

Older brother, Jake Foster (17), has also entered ten events, but will sub the 100 and 200 breast for Carson’s backstroke events. He holds the top seed for both of the breaststroke events, as well as the 400 IM.

Crow Canyon’s Zoie Hartman is one of the top young women entered into the junior national championships, with a total of seven events currently on her schedule. Hartman is the top seed in the 100 and 200 breast, and is also entered in the 50 and 100 free, 100 and 200 back, and 200 IM.

Isabelle Stadden, who represents Aquajets Swim Team, will extend her stay from the Phillips 66 National Championships to the junior national championships by a total of seven events. The 16-year-old sits as the top seed in both the 100 and 200 back, while also entering the 50 and 100 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM.

Claire Tuggle of Clovis Swim Club is another swimmer who will be making the transition of the national championships to the junior national championships in Irvine. Tuggle has also entered a total of seven events and sits as the top seed in the 200 and 400 free, as well as the 200 IM. Additional events for Tuggle include the 100 and 800 free, 200 breast and 400 IM.

The psych sheet for the junior national championships also feature many 13-year-olds, including:

  • Grace Rainey – SwimMAC Carolina
  • Zoe Skirboll – Racer X Aquatics
  • Tess Howley – Long Island Swim
  • Lucy Bell – Fort Collins
  • Kiara Xanthos – Texas Ford Aquatics
  • Michaela Mattes – Sarasota YMCA
  • Maggie McGuire – SoCal Aquatics
  • Aislin Farris – Bluefish Swim Club
  • Kiley Wilhelm – SwimMAC Carolina
  • Erin Gemmell – Nation’s Capital
