The psych sheets for the 2016 U.S. Open Championships have been posted. The meet runs from August 2-6 and will be held at the University of Minnesota pool. The meet is open to both national and international athletes.

Despite the smaller number of athletes competing at the meet, there will still be a lot of talent in the waters. One such talent is 17-year-old superstar Michael Andrew, who will be competing in seven events. Andrew is entered in the 50 free, 100 flly, 100 breast, 100 back, 200 breast, 200 back, and 200 IM. This large number of events really opens up Andrew’s competition schedule, giving him the opportunity to branch out in his event schedule.

New York Athletic Club’s Arkady Vyatchanin enters the meet seeded first in both the 100 (54.12) and 200 backstroke (1:56.80).

Club Wolverine’s Ali Deloof is one of two sub-minute 100 backstrokes entered in the meet with a 59.69. The other belongs to Sian Whittaker of Australia with a 59.92.

Bethany Galat of Aggie Swim Club will be competing in four events, two of which she is seeded first in. The twenty-year-old tops the competition list in both the 200 breast (2:24.52) and 400 IM (4:37.69), second in the 200 IM (2:12.13), and seventh in the 100 breast with a 1:08.46.
