Russian athletes are due to be heard as to whether they’ll be able to compete in the Tokyo 2020
Olympic Games. The World Anti-Doping Agency Executive Committee will meet Dec. 9 to decide their fate, including a possible whole-nation ban, after considering formal recommendations from the organization’s independent Compliance Review Committee.

Pending approval from the International Swimming League, Australia’s Minna Atherton, swimming for ISL’s London Roar, may earn a performance bonus of $30,000 for the world record she set in the SCM 100 backstroke (54.89) in Budapest last month. It would be the second largest single amount awarded as a world-record bonus in the pool.
