Portuguese Swimming Federation Announces Swimmers and Coaches of the Year
The Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN) held a gala Saturday night in which it announced its award winners for top coaches and athletes for the year in all aquatic disciplines.
Alexis Santos and Tamila Holub were recognized as Portugal’s swimmers of the year, and Louis Cameira was named coach of the year. Jose Manuel Constanino, the President of Portugal’s Olympic Committee, and Humberto Santos, President of the Paralympic National Committee, led the presentation of awards.
In open water, Rafael Gill and Vania Neves were recognized as swimmers of the year, and Rui Borges as coach of the year. In Paralympic swimming, David Grachat and Sonia Resende (swimmers) and coach Carlos Mota were honored.
Water polo winners included players Tiago Costa and Jane Sousa and coach Nuno Lobo. Maria Luisa Leite (athlete) and Filipa Faria (coach) were recognized in synchro, and top Masters swimmers included Vitor Mavioso and Helena Kraeva.
