GOLD COAST, Australia, August 16. IT was a busy day for Team USA Down Under as it met with the Australian media for the first time since making the trek to the Gold Coast.

Michael Phelps, Missy Franklin, Ryan Lochte and Katie Ledecky managed to coax an Olympic-level turnout from the local media, while Nick Thoman accepted Cullen Jones’ ALS Ice Bucket Challenge while on deck. Additionally, Pan Pacifics media manager Ian Hanson, who also is a Swimming World correspondent, procured some great shots of the venue for us.
