Photo Gallery: Age Groupers in Frisco Enjoy a Special Guest at their “Beach Bash”

It’s not every day you get to play at a massive water park with your whole swim team and National Team star Laura Sogar. It’s even less likely that on that same day, you’d get to participate in a professional photo shoot with the model-esque swimmer. But for some swimmers from Texas Ford Aquatics, that’s exactly what happened on Saturday.

The 800 kids at Frisco Aquatics got a thrill Saturday when not only did National Teamer and NCAA Champion Laura Sogar show up to their kick-off party, but they also got to be the first swimmers in the nation to preview Arena’s revolutionary new ST Limited Edition racing suit.

With the launch of this fall’s limited edition ST, Arena’s first printed racing suit at an entry-level price, the company kicks off its U.S. National Team-inspired line.

“Our goal in developing this line is to create a real, visual tie between the kids who are swimming their hearts out across the nation, and the U.S. National Team,” said Tim McCool, Vice President and General Manager for Arena North America.  “The swimming community is truly a family and these age group swimmers are likely our next National Team heroes. I guess we saw this as an opportunity to inspire these swimmers and reinforce their link to their national team idols.”

“We’re kicking the inspiration off with our first printed racing suit. But there’s so much more to come.”

Reminiscent of the iconic podium wear worn by U.S. National Team medalists at the 2013 FINA World Championships and 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, Arena hopes the Carbon-themed ST print brings the look of the U.S. National Team to age group racers.

“It was so much fun to hang out with the kids at Texas Ford Aquatics, and to have them participate in the photo shoot!” Sogar said. “They were all super excited about the limited edition ST. I wish there had been a suit with that much personality around when I was an age group swimmer. And the link to the National Team is cool, too. I hope it inspires all swimmers, especially my new friends at Texas Ford, to swim fast.”

Arena announced the product publicly on Tuesday, on the eve of the ASCA World Clinic in Jacksonville. There, member coaches will have the chance to touch and feel the new suit.

The ST is available now at select retailers. Call 888-902-7362 for a complete list of retailers.
