Phillips 66 National Swimming Championships starts today.

The Spring Nationals will take place at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York. An estimated 800 swimmers will be in attendance including six 1996 Olympic gold medalists:

Brooke Bennett, Beth Botsford, Brad Bridgewater, Tom Dolan, Amanda Beard, and Jenny Thompson.

The meet serves as the selection meet for the 1997 Short Course World Championships set for April 17-20 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
