Park Signs With Speedo
SEOUL, South Korea, January 16. ACCORDING to news reports out of South Korea, Tae Hwan Park has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Speedo.
News reports have Speedo's deal valued at $3.2 million that will provided money for a coach, weight trainer, translator and nutritionist.
With Park recently cutting ties with his longtime coach Min Sang Roh, he signed on with former national team coach Seok Ki Park. Among the changes wrought from this decision, Park also is considering a move to the Queensland Miami Club – home of Grant Hackett and Kosuke Kitajima.
Park had a strong year to help encourage some money to come his way. He earned Swimming World Magazine's Pacific Rim Male Swimmer of the Year based primarily on wins in the 400 and 1500 meter freestyles at Pan Pacs in August. He then claimed a pair of Asian records at the Asian Games in December.
