There is a rivalry unlike many others in the nation, especially in the Pac-12 — especially in the pool.

On Wednesday, the Cal-Stanford rivalry gets a much-anticipated reboot at Stanford for the annual men’s triple-distance meet.

Cal’s Ryan Murphy will bring his experience as defending Olympic gold medalist in both backstroke events to this elite college rivalry.

The Stanford men don’t have one superstar, but plenty of collegiate stars, led by Sam Perry, Liam Egan, Abrahm DeVine and Ryan Dudzinski.

This meet will have everything: The rivalry, superstars, All-Americans, team depth and great coaches.

There is no reason to think it won’t live up to the hype of being one of the best dual meets of the season.

Here is what else is going on in the Pac-12 this week:

Arizona State vs. USC

The Arizona State Sun Devils are coming off of some strong performances to start the season and will face a big test against USC. On Friday. Louise Hansson and Maddie Wright lead the Trojans in the first of their double dip with Arizona teams this week.

Utah vs. UNLV

The Utes are looking to be one of the sleepers in the Pac-12 race, especially in the men’s competition. Utah faces a meet against the Running Rebels that should prove they will be a factor in the Pac-12.

Arizona vs. USC

Just a day after facing Arizona State, the USC Trojans will turn around and face Arizona. Wright will face off against fellow Michigan native and NCAA qualifier Taylor Garcia of the Wildcats.

Umm… so many errors, where to begin? Cal v Stanford men is Wednesday, Nov 2, not Thursday. You also seem to be implying that Stanford and Cal women will be swimming against each other – that will happen in February but not this week. The meet you are refering to is the traditional fall Cal v Stanford MEN triple-distance meet.

Is it too much to ask if you do at least a little fact checking before you post stuff?
