Vini- You make me laugh, you make me think, you comfort me, you challenge me, and above all else; you make me want to be my best self for you & for us. i love you so much. let’s get married!!!

Lazor, a native of Michigan, competed at Ohio State and Auburn in college. But after a brief retirement, she blossomed into one of America’s top breaststrokers in Bloomington, alongside Lilly King and under coach Ray Looze. It led to the Tokyo Olympics, in which Lazor won bronze in the 200 breaststroke, a spot behind her training partner. Lazor also won gold in both breaststroke events and the 400 medley relay at the 2019 Pan American Games and in the 200 breast at the 2018 FINA Short-Course World Championships.

A native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Lanza competed for the Hoosiers from 2015-19, where he was an NCAA champion. He missed out on competing at his home Olympics in 2016 but established himself as one of the top Brazilians on the circuits in the four years after. He won three relay medals at Pan Am Games in 2019 as well as bronze in the 100 fly at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo.

He qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the 100 butterfly (placing 26th) and the 200 individual medley (25th). He was also part of a Brazilian men’s medley relay that was disqualified. Lanza competed in three events at the FINA World Championships in Budapest this summer, his best result 23rd in the 200 IM.

In addition to training together at Indiana, both swimmers were also members of the London Roar in the International Swimming League.

It is Indiana University, not the University of Indiana.
