Oklahoma Record Holder Aaron Keesling Joins Missouri State’s Class of 2021
Missouri State has added Aaron Keesling to the roster beginning this fall. Keesling is a breaststroker from Oklahoma. He trains with Phillips 66 Splash Club where he is a Summer Junior Nationals qualifier. Kessling is coached by Chad Englehart at both the club and high school level.
Among his best times are:
- 100 Breast 55.65
- 200 Breast 2:05.94
- 200 IM 1:53.76
Kessling has only been swimming for four years, so still has plenty of potential. He had an impressive high school career, swimming for Bartlesville High School. He was a two time state champion in the 100 breaststroke, highlighted by breaking the 23 year old 100 yard breaststroke state record. Kessling took down Kyle Marden‘s 1994 state record by a half second with his 55.65.
Kessling said of his decision, “I chose Missouri State because they have an excellent program that will enable me to chase my true potential. I can’t wait to be a bear!” He would like to study business.
Missouri State lost the MAC Championship by a single point to Eastern Michigan this year. This year Kessling would have scored in the B final of the 100 breaststroke, making a swing in points for the team title.
