Notre Dame Swim and Dive Cleans Up in ACC Weekly Awards
Notre Dame’s Abbie Dolan has been named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, and NC State’s Madeline Kline has been selected as the ACC Women’s Diver of the Week. On the men’s side, Notre Dame’s Zach Yeadon has been tabbed as the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, and teammate Joe Coumos has been named the ACC Men’s Diver of the Week.
Dolan turned in an impressive performance in the Irish’s first-place finish at the Shamrock Invitational. The sophomore from Sunfish Lake, Minnesota, posted NCAA provisional times in the 50 free (22.66), 100 free (49.12) and 200 free (1:47.24), finishing in first in the 100 free, and second in the other two events. The Irish finished ahead of both No. 13 Ohio State and No. 18 Wisconsin.
Kline had a strong showing in the Wolfpack win over No. 20 North Carolina. The sophomore from Damascus, Maryland, won the 3-meter competition with a score of 320.85, and placed second in the 1-meter competition with a score of 264.83.
Yeadon shined in Notre Dame’s first-place finish at the Shamrock Invitational, topping the likes of No. 18 Ohio State and Iowa. The freshman from San Antonio, Texas, placed first in the 500 free (4:22.85) and 1650 free (15:02.06), posting NCAA provisional times in both. Yeadon also finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 3:55.08.
Coumos won both the 1-meter competition and 3-meter competition in the Shamrock Invitational. The senior from Tomball, Texas, set pool records in both events, with a score of 408.55 on the 1-meter, and a program-record 419.80 on the 3-meter.
