No. 19 Aggies to Face No. 17 SMU in Dallas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team will travel to Dallas to face the 17th-ranked Southern Methodist University Mustangs at Perkins Natatorium at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Aggies and Mustangs have been familiar foes throughout the season. The two teams faced off first the Reveille Invitational in College Station on Nov. 2-3. A&M captured first place over SMU by a score of 1,175.5 to 953.5. The two met each other again in Dallas on Jan. 18-19 at the Dallas Morning News Swimming & Diving Classic. SMU finished third at the high-caliber meet with 279 points while A&M was fifth with 261.

A&M has won two of its last three duals, capturing wins over No. 23 LSU and La-Monroe on the road before dropping a home decision to No. 3 Texas. A&M's only losses this season have been to teams ranked No. 3 in the coaches poll. Auburn beat A&M in College Station on Jan. 12 and has since moved ahead of Texas, to the No. 2 spot in the poll, after beating theLonghorns in Austin.

SMU is 4-0 in dual meets this season. The Mustangs have beaten TCU, Southwest Missouri State, Louisiana-Monroe and Arizona. They also claimed a ninth place finish at the Texas Invitational in early December.
