Indiana’s Newburgh Sea Creatures broke the 15-18 National Age Group in the 200-meter medley relay on Thursday at the Indiana Senior Championships.

USA Swimming National Teamer Lilly King (18) led the relay with a dynamite breaststroke split that equaled teammate Whitney Brown’s (15) backstroke split of 30.36. Christie Jensen (18) and Olivia Treski (18) completed the relay team. Jensen split a sizzling 27.44 for the fly leg, while Treski turned in a 26.18 for the finish.

The foursome posted a combined 1:54.34 to take down the former record of 1:54.46 recognized by USA Swimming set by the Aquajets of suburban Minneapolis in 2009. Another Aquajets relay composed of only 15 and 16-year-olds posted a 1:54.41 in 2013, however it was only recognized as a 15-16 age group record. This was likely due to a clerical error.
