Nevada Ends Perfect 18-0 Season With Victory Over San Jose State
RENO, Nevada, January 27. DESPITE the exhibition of four events, the University of Nevada swimming and diving team defeated San Jose State 152.50-139.50 Saturday at Lombardi Pool. The Wolf Pack finished the regular season undefeated in dual meets, 18-0.
The Pack relay team of Li Bei, Margaret Doolittle, Michaela Schmidt and JayDee Huppert opened the meet winning the 200 meter relay with a time of 1:46.65.
Bi recorded individual wins in the 100 yard backstroke (56.96) and in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.75. Doolittle also won two individual events, the 100 yard breaststroke (1:05.10) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:23.61).
In addition, Bobbie Lee Reese (200 yard free, 1:56.83), Kim Kabesh (200 yard butterfly, 2:05.22), and Nonie Wainwright (50 yard freestyle, 24.19) each picked up an individual win for the Wolf Pack.
The Nevada divers claimed five of the top six spots in the 1 meter diving competition with Chelsea Sawyer taking first place with a score of 307.30. Ashley Potoc (275.40) placed second.
Up next for the Pack is the WAC Championships in San Antonio, Texas. The meet will be held Feb. 14-17 in Palo Alto Natatorium.
