NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Ticket Information Announced

Tickets for the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship will go on sale on Monday, January 18. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Eastern Time. The tickets will be sold as all-session packages and will cost $85.

This year’s meet will be hosted by Georgia Tech. The women’s meet will take place March 16-19. The men’s meet will occur a week later, from March 23-26.

With two months to go before the meet, here are the current leaders in every NCAA event:

Women’s 50-yard freestyle: Olivia Smoliga, Georgia – 21.82

Men’s 50-yard freestyle: Caeleb Dressel, Florida – 18.77

Women’s 100-yard freestyle: Lia Neal, Stanford – 47.20

Men’s 100-yard freestyle: Michael Chadwick, Missouri – 41.89

Women’s 200-yard freestyle: Hali Flickinger, Georgia – 1:43.56

Men’s 200-yard freestyle: Matias Koski, Georgia – 1:33.07

Women’s 500-yard freestyle: Leah Smith, Virginia – 4:30.85

Men’s 500-yard freestyle: Clark Smith, Texas – 4:08.82

Women’s 1650-yard freestyle: Leah Smith, Virginia – 15:39.56

The Ramblin’ Wreck’s hosting BOTH women’s/men’s meets?

I take strong exception to Li Neal’s 21.99 50 free and her 47.20 100 free.

Even those the times re on the Cardinal website I don’t believe she’s been that fast this season. Neither time is on USS’ current Top 10 list, either overall or among Western swimmers. And the times are not listed in US Swimming database as well. The only meet where she swam fast this season was the Art Adamson Invitational the third weekend of late November in College Station and there she was 22.22/47.76 or
thereabouts.

Maybe she swam in that one-day scy meet the day after nationals Federal Way but USS has not seen fit to post those results so I can’t determine if she did them there or….

Neither that 21.9 or 47.2 is her pr but still the list showing who’s No. 1 should be as accurate as possible.
