The final day of the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships from Indianapolis is upon us.

It has been an extremely fast meet and there is one more day of action.

The day 4 prelims session will consist of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly before the platform diving prelims, then the early heats of the 1650 freestyle.

NCAA Men’s 200 Backstroke

Cal senior Destin Lasco claimed the top seed in the 200 backstroke, getting to the wall in 1:36.05 to break the pool record set by Ryan Murphy in 2017 (1:36.75).

Lasco, who won the 200 IM earlier in the meet, made the finals in the 100 backstroke as well.

Arizona State sophomore Hubert Kos took the second seed in 1:37.03 setting up a showdown between members of teams in the national title hunt.

Arizona State had one more in the final with Owen McDonald taking the seventh seed (1:38.21).

Cal, which for years stacked this event with several in the finals, had no A finalists besides Lasco and will have two in the B final.

Georgia fifth-year Bradley Dunham took the third spot in 1:37.58.

Florida freshman Jonny Marshall was fourth (1:37.84), followed by NC State’s Kacper Stokowski (1:37.90) and 100 backstroke champion Brendan Burns of Indiana (1:38.18)

Notre Dame sophomore Tommy Janton took the final spot in the finals with a 1:38.36.
