NC State Sprinter Ky-Lee Perry Out 4-6 Weeks Minimum with Elbow Injury; Questionable for NCAA Champs
NC State sophomore sprinter Ky-Lee Perry will miss the ACC championships and is questionable to compete at the NCAA championships after she suffered a dislocated elbow and torn tendon.
Wolfpack head coach Braden Holloway told Swimming World that Perry injured herself during NC State’s dual meet at Virginia Jan. 19, where Perry competed in just one race, and she did not take part in the team’s meet against North Carolina one week later.
Perry’s injury would keep her out a minimum of 4-6 weeks, but recovery could take even longer. That means her status for the NCAA championships, to be held March 14-17 in Columbus, is very much up in the air.
Perry was a key sprinter for the Wolfpack as a freshman in 2017, swimming on three championship final relays at the NCAA championships and helping the Wolfpack women win their first ACC title since 1980.
