National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) All-Star Team To Compete in Irish Nationals

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, February 25. THE National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) has announced that they will select a NCSA All-Star Team that will travel to compete in the Irish Long Course Nationals, April 29-May 2, 2010. The NCSA All-Star Team will be selected based upon the results at the NCSA Junior National Championships, March 16-27, 2010, in Orlando, Fla.

"We are extremely proud to be able to offer this great experience and opportunity to some of the USA's best 18 and under, Junior Elite swimmers," NCSA President Kevin Milak said. "It is one of our missions to help offer exciting, motivating and meaningful opportunities to this country's young swimmers, coaches and their club programs. This situation will make the NCSA Junior Nationals more prestigious, motivating, and will certainly change the excitement level for the clubs. We also are looking for a carry-over value for the coaches to use with their swimmers as a result of these efforts."

The NCSA All-Star Team will travel to Dublin, Ireland of Sunday, April 25 and return to States on Tuesday, May 4. The team will consist of 26 male and 26 female swimmers, and eight coaches. The coaches will be selected based upon their placement of swimmers on the team, with events consideration, and confirmation approval of the NCSA Board of Directors. All swimmers will be able to swim a full national format at the Irish Nationals.

"We have worked very hard over the last couple of years to get in a situation to offer the club programs such a great experience and opportunity," NCSA All-Star Project Manager Bob Gillett said. "We really appreciate the help that Irish Swimming is giving us in executing this effort; Peter Bank, High Performance Director and Robert Mooney, High Performance Administrator. We will be using our NCSA communication structure to provide everyone who participates in the NCSA programs the details of the selection process and travel plans."

Important Note: We need to emphasis the need for immediate action on travel documentation (passports) for all swimmers and coaches who have even a moderate level of probability of making this team! We hope everyone will enjoy the excitement of trying to make this team and participate successfully at the Irish Nationals."
