INCHEON, South Korea, October 2. JAPANESE swimmer Naoya Tomita has been fined one million won (just under $1,000) for stealing a South Korean reporter’s camera from the pool deck at the recent Asian Games, according to Inside the Games.

Tomita, who had been staying at the athletes’ village in Incheon following the rest of the Japanese Asian Games team’s departure back to Japan, is now headed back to his home country, where he could face additional punishments.

Tomita’s sponsorship contract with Descente Ltd has already been suspended, and the Japanese Olympic Committee will soon decide whether to strip his results from the Asian Games.
