Morro Bay High School swim and water polo coach Andrew Silva has been invited to help coach the USA Women’s Water Polo Senior National Team at the 2017 FINA Water Polo World League Super Final in Shanghai, China.

Since this is a non-Olympic year, the national team will compete in a number of events in preparation for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

“Any time you have an opportunity to represent your country and be part of a group representing your country, it’s an honor and a privilege,” Silva said. “This opportunity is extremely exciting because it’s our Women’s National Senior Team; this is our best water polo players in the country.”

Silva is head coach of the high school swim and water polo teams at Morro Bay High School in California. The school has not had a home pool in 18 years and are waiting the arrival of a new pool in the fall. The pool has not been completed yet. Having Silva with international coaching experience along with the new pool will help tremendously for Morro Bay High School.
