Michigan Masters Take Down Men’s 400 Medley Relay World Record

This weekend at the Milford Athletic Club short course meters masters meet a world record fell. The Michigan Master’s Men’s team of Erik LokensgardKurt OlzmannLarry Day, and Chuck Olson broke the 280-319 400 Medley Relay FINA Masters World Record with a time of 5:02.97.

The previous mark was a 5:05.89 set this summer by the Brasil Masters on June 4.

Splits:

  • Lokensgard: 1:25.92
  • Olzmann: 1:26.10
  • Day: 1:07.36
  • Olson: 1:03.59

Lokensgard won the 75-79 100 meter butterfly in 1:35.26. Day swam a 2:42.63 to win the 65-69 200 meter backstroke.

Olzmann topped the 70-74 50 freestyle (32.19) and the 50 (38.66) and 100 breaststroke (1:26.56). Olson was also an event winner with his 29.00 50 freestyle in the 65-69 age division, his 1:04.88 100 freestyle and 2:26.34 200 free.
