Michael Phelps & Boomer Are #Trainingfor2032 with Huggies Little Swimmers

Michael Phelps announced today that he and his family will be partnering with Huggies Little Swimmers while they are #Trainingfor2032. The campaign centers around encouraging young children to enjoy fun and safe water play, all with Huggies Little Swimmers.

In a press conference held by Phelps, Boomer, and his wife, Nicole, Phelps explained,

“Some of the best memories of my life have been in the water – and none more special than the days I spend swimming with Boomer. I’m not teaching Boomer to master the butterfly just yet, but #Trainingfor2032 includes safe water play that helps build comfort and confidence in the water. I’m partnering with Huggies Little Swimmers because I want all babies to be the best swimmers they can be.”

This disappoints me. The Little Swimmers Diapers are so wasteful. It is much better for a family’s budget and for our planet to purchase 2-4 non-disposable swim diapers and a wet bag. If the child has an accident, you can pretty easily clean the non-disposable swim diaper (they are plastic lined) and then toss it in the wet bag and launder it at home. Keep the spares in the swim bag for a quick return to the pool. I have raised 4 children and have countless hours in/at the pool with them as an instructor and coach. I only remember 2 x that I felt it was really messy, but it’s no worse than a messy diaper change. Please do not buy disposable swim diapers.
