CLOVIS, California, July 19. MISSION Viejo owned the night during the first session of long course meter competition at the Clovis Speedo Sectional hosted by the Clovis Swim Club.
Micha Burden won the women's 800 freestyle in 8:54.67 to defeat Aislinn Smalling, 17, of Class Aquatics, who took second in 8:59.20. Meanwhile, Walnut Creek's Shelley Harper, 17, wound up third in 9:03.76.
In the men's 800 free, Mission's Kane Radford, 16, clocked a winning time of 8:12.67. John Mendoz of The Armada placed second in 8:20.94, while Novaquatics' Kevin Little, 17, nabbed third in 8:24.79.
