The men’s 200 free saw a lot of top notch athletes qualifying for the semi-finals, including a tie for 16th between Egypt’s Marwan Elkamash and Austria’s Felix Aubock.

The two posted matching times of 1:47.40 from heats five and six respectively. A swim-off could take place following the heats of the 1500 meter free to determine who will continue on to tonight’s semi-finals, unless if one swimmer elects to not swim. If that happens the other swimmer will automatically be pushed through to semi-finals.

Swimming World will continue to update as soon as the qualifier is determined.

UPDATE: No swim-off will take place as Marwan Elkamash continues on to the semi-finals as the sixteenth swimmer. Felix Aubock elected to not partake in a swim-off.
