Los Angeles Still Gunning for 2024, Implies It Would Accept 2028

The bid committee seeking to host the 2024 Olympic Games in Los Angeles has put out a statement indicating “that LA’s primary focus isn’t on ourselves” and implying that the city would be ready to accept hosting the Games in 2028 instead if the International Olympic Committee awards both the 2024 and 2028 Games this summer.

“To be blunt, LA 2024 has never been only about LA or 2024. Even when the issue of a dual award for the 2024 and 2028 Games was initially raised, we didn’t say it’s ‘LA first’ or ‘it’s now or never’ for LA: that sounds like an ultimatum. We could have used that strategy, but we didn’t because we thought it was presumptuous to tell the IOC what to do and how to think,” the statement reads.

“It has always been our contention that LA 2024 had to make as much sense for the Olympic Movement as it did for the people of LA. And we’ve stuck to that premise.”

The text goes on to argue that “LA’s primary focus isn’t on ourselves; instead we are focused on the Olympic movement and the world.”

Finally, the statement asks a rhetorical question: “How can LA best serve the long-term needs of the the Olympic and Paralympic Games?”

That offers the strongest indication yet that the city would be willing to accept the 2028 Games should the IOC pick Paris to host 2024. Paris has indicated that it would be unwilling to accept 2028 should the IOC decide to award 2024 to Los Angeles.

The IOC will meet this week (June 9) to discuss the possibility of awarding hosting duties for two different Olympics at the same time, which would be Sept. 13 in Lima, Peru.

UPDATE: LA 2024 spokesman Jeff Millman wrote in a statement to Swimming World that LA has not conceded anything in its push to host the 2024 Games. However, he did not deny that the city would accept 2028 if Paris is chosen for 2024.

“LA is the ideal host city for 2024 and partner for the Olympic Movement. LA is not conceding anything in the race for the 2024 Games.”

Thrre arе, off course, some unnfavourable poinmts tоo freelancing.

One necessary level іs that when you worқ as a freelance

you would have in working for a legislatioқn agency or a non-publiс attorney.
In case youu really feel tҺat ѕucһ “perks” as basic

not оfcfer you thee benefits.
