Lindsay Vrooman completed a sweep of the 400 and 800 freestyle races on Monday night at U.S. Nationals in San Antonio. Swimming from lane seven, Vrooman held off a late charge from Stephanie Peacock to take the title in 8:28.13, just off the 11th-ranked 8:26.67 she swam to win gold at World University Games last month.

After the race, Vrooman spoke highly of the experience in Korea at the World University Games and discussed how she was able to bounce back so quickly for Nationals. Vrooman also discussed the 800, including how she ended up in lane seven after swimming in the prelims during the middle of the hot day in San Antonio.
