Lindsay Benko’s Diary From World’s – Day 3

Day three way fun, probably because I won my first world title in the 400 free!!! I felt really good this morning and tonight was faster, but it didn’t feel as good, but I was happy with the win. We saw Neil break another world record in the 100 IM, and Jenny brake one too in the 100 fly. American records were breaking left and right tonight so it was a great night. Our 400 free relay set an American record tonight also, before Georgia at NCAA's so it was cool. I also got to be on a relay with Karen Campbell again, it was just like college season. We got touched out of a medal (we got fourth), but we all split well. I am having a lot of fun being here and with the team. I am meeting a lot of new people and enjoying them. I think I am getting ready to leave Greece. It is a very busy city, and super crowded.
I have decided that the traffic here is worse than LA. The people here enjoy using their horns a lot more, even at three in the morning!! But enough complaining – Athens is pretty cool. I think we have decided to stay just one extra day and enjoy the city and the islands. We are going to go to the islands and try to see some of the sights and beaches. Although I don’t know if anything can compare to the acropolis. We were going to stay two, but I think everyone is ready to go home. Plus it is snowing and I didn’t prepare my wardrobe very well.
