Lim Zhi Cong, Quah Ting Wen Pace Singapore National Swimming Championships
SINGAPORE, June 24. Lim Zhi Cong (Male) and Quah Ting Wen (Female) each won their respective "Best Swimmer" award as the third Singapore National Swimming Championships came to an end. Meanwhile, the Aquatic Performance Swim Club took the team title at the long course meter competition held from June 18-22.
Quah topped the women's field with five golds and two meet records. Her six golds came in chronological order in the 100 free (58.32), 200 IM (2:24.05), 800 free (9:08.44 – meet record), 200 free (2:05.31) and 400 IM (4:59.82 – meet record). She also won silver in the 400 free (4:23.02).
Lim wound up with two golds, two silvers and two bronzes along with a meet record to win the men's best swimmer accolade. He claimed titles in the 400 IM (4:41.90) and 200 IM (2:08.55). He also won silver in the 1500 free (16:39.13) and 50 back (28.18). His bronzes came with a 1:00.17 in the 100 back and a 9:25.15 in the 800 free.
